Rogers to release BlackBerry Bold 9790 along with White Curve 9360 & Bold 9900

Over the last couple of weeks, Rogers has released a few smartphones, powered by Android, mostly LTE-enable, which were brought for the first time in Canada and seemed to be their new poster phones for the last quarter 2011. However, in a recently leaked advertisement for Rogers, we discovered that the wireless carrier intends to launch a new set of BlackBerry handsets including the not yet officially announced BlackBerry Bold 9790. The network will also deliver a white version of the BlackBerry Curve 9360, a device that was already released by the company a few months back. BlackBerry Bold 9900, which was initially sold only in black as well, will be getting also a white version.

BlackBerry Bold 9790 is a mid-range device from RIM ( Research in Motion ) sporting a full QWERTY keyboard along with a touchscreen. It has BlackBerry 7 OS and will also feature second-gen BlackBerry WebKit browser. Bold 9790′s specs include a 1.2GHz single-core processor 768 MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage expandable up to 40GB via MicroSD card.

There is also has a 5-megapixel camera on the back. The device was already seen in a number of leaks before and it appears to be smaller than the BlackBerry Bold 9900 or 9930 models. According to similar leaked documents, Bold 9790 will also be available at TELUS, WIND and Koodo Mobile sometime in the future.

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 was delivered by Rogers in August and was also running OS 7 coming out of the box. It is powered by an 1.2Ghz processor and has a 2.8-inch display ( 640×480 ) while using a QWERTY keyboard with trackpad. The camera is a 5MP one capable of recording 720p HD videos, although it doesn’t auto-focus.

The complete specs list also includes 768MB of RAM, 8GB on board for storage, and GPS, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and Wi-Fi b/g/n connectivity. Bold 9900 came with a price tag of $ 249.99 on a three-year contract. BlackBerry Curve 9360 also arrived in earlier this year with a 800MHz processor, a 2.44 inches display with optical trackpad and 512MB of RAM. It costs $ 49.99 ( 36 EUR ) with a new 3-year Rogers contract with a voice and a data plan.

You can also get it without a contract for $ 349.99 ( 254 EUR ). The new white version for Bold 9900 and Curve 9360 are expected to cost the same, while there is no word yet on pricing about Bold 9790, but as a mid-range phone will most likely have a fair price. The release date also not revealed yet but these new gadgets are expected to hit the stores this month.
